In TAS, we have only one rural health club known as RUSTICA and located at Tasmania University.
RUSTICA: The rural health club of Tasmania has branches located at Burnie, Hobart, and Launceston. The student-led club is committed to promoting rural health careers and practice among allied health, medicine, and nursing students. RUSTICA supports
The club is a member of the NRHN that has 29 RHC members. RHCs promote rural health career and practice through information sharing, work placement opportunities, student support, conferences and events, and community development and advocacy.
RUSTICA provides the member with scholarship opportunities, networking opportunities, and career development opportunities. RUSTICA members are exposed to activities like speaker events, rural school visits, rural community events, rural festivals, health trips, and clinical skills. Club members are exposed to a range of other social activities such as cultural training and health nights.
With TAS, you will have the opportunity to experience clinical skill tours, visit rural communities and rural high schools, attend local festivals, access scholarships and work placement opportunities, and attend annual professional conferences and events at subsidised rates.
They support health clubs and their students through health training programmes, placement support, professional development, and interdisciplinary networking and scholarship opportunities.
It also provides health check to the rural community with no cost, raises healthy lifestyle awareness and relationship building with medical doctors
They engage in activities like speaking events with health professionals, health centre visits, local tourism, and other fun events.
All these coupled with the excellent people make TAS a great club to be part of.
